Ideathons are intensive brainstorming events for students to address some of the most pressing challenges of our time. In the new normal it will be virtual in nature.
Participants work in teams where individuals from different backgrounds, skills and interests converge to diagnose predefined problems, identify the best opportunities and ideate the most viable solution.
An ideathon may require just ideas, a solution, a roadmap or an actionable plan. Ideathons are typically time-bound, spanning a few hours to a couple of days.
Ideathon engage students in an alternative, out of classroom experience.
Gain 21st century critical skills in collaboration and design thinking, complete with final presentation to judges.
It will open a new door to the students to start their own venture.
It will provide the opportunity to meet experts in their respective field.

Teams should be shortlisted based on judging criteria and will be informed accordingly
Present your ideas to the jury panel at a predefined date
Few selected ideas would be rewarded with incubation opportunity
Converting the ideas into Proof of Concept at the BioNEST-BHU Incubation Centre
- Preference would be made for those who are ready to setup their startup now
BioNEST-BHU will focus on Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Healthcare, Agritech, Food Technology and allied areas. It is being developed in about 10000 ft2space on the 4th floor of the Central Discovery Centre (CDC) building. It will consist of 15 rooms (300 sq ft each) for start-ups along with laboratories dedicated for Molecular Biology, Chemistry and Microbial /Animal Cell culture facilities. BHU-BioNEST promotes incubation of start-ups by connecting them with the expert faculty members in the Institute of Science, Institute of Agricultural Science and Institute of Medical Sciences. It also facilitates access to the Central Instrumentation facility in the Central Discovery Centre as well as in the different departments of the University. BHU-BioNEST connects start-ups with inventors/ developers involved in developing technologies ready for transfer to industry as well as to hospitals and provide initial hand-holding / mentorship to the start-ups.
